Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has passed a late fitness test and will feature for his high-flying Rio Ave when they face title-chasing Benfica in the Portuguese League this evening.

The 24-year-old is expected to anchor the holding midfield role for Rio Ave, who will all but secure a UEFA Europa League place with a victory tonight.

Benfica is second on the league table just a point below Sporting who will be praying Rio Ave beat their closest opponents this evening.

Alhassan Wakaso has seen his stock rise this season with teams across Europe lining up for his signature with Spain a muted destination.

The Ghanaian will be playing in his 27th league game of the season this evening and reports are that scouts across Europe will be monitoring the performance of the fast rising Ghanaian middle man.
