Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso could not hide his delight after his role in ensuring Rio Ave recorded a 2-1 victory over Vitoria Setubal.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian, who has played 1454 minutes of league football this season, was instrumental as Rio Ave navigated a difficult game against unpredictable Vitoria Setubal.
Alhassan missed his side’s 5-1 defeat to Sporting Braga and the subsequent 0-0 game in the reverse encounter after he picked up a red card in the game against Belenenses.
The Ghanaian says he is delighted to have returned to action which coincided with his team’s first victory in their last three games.
“I am delighted most importantly that we returned to winning ways which was very key to the team,” Alhassan told GHANAsoccernet.com
“And then the issue of my sending off which meant I could only watch from the stands as my colleagues played football.”
