Al-Ittihad fans chase Francis Akwaffo

A section of the fans of Egyptian club Al-Ittihad Al-Sakandary have charged on the president of the club Effat El Sadat for letting Ghanaian winger Francis Akwaffo go on loan to Libyan club Al Nassr of Benghazi.

The irate fans on Friday wanted to set the car of the club president ablaze because the Egyptian league is on hold and he has made the Ghanaian to leave on a six-month loan.

“The fans are chanting that they need me back, it is getting out of hand they wanted to even burn the club president’s car and other properties yesterday because of me,” Akwaffo told Goal.com Ghana.

Goal.com Ghana has not been able to reach the club for any official pronouncement on the incident.

Akwaffo and his Al-Ittihad team-mate Edet Ottobong who went on loan are in the Al Nassr squad who will be playing against Sudanese side Al Khartoum in the Caf Confederations Cup on Sunday.
