Akunnor took Bobbie Ansah decision - Hearts

C K Akunnor recommended the axing of defender Bobbie Ansah during his tenure at Hearts, the club has revealed.

The 21-year-old left the 19-time Ghanaian champions at the end of the season to join rivals Asante Kotoko and was hugely successful in their Caf Champions League victory over Sony Ela Nguema last Sunday.

Hearts fans are furious over the departure of the former King Faisal full-back and are demanding answers from management.

However Hearts Communication Director Muheed Saeed says Bobbie’s departure from the capital was a technical decision taken by former Ghana captain C K Akunnor who was their coach last season.

“It was a technical decision taken by the coach (Akunnor) because at the end of the season every coach submits the players he wants to work with and it resulted in that,” he told Accra-based Peace FM.

Hearts are battling to shoot themselves out of the relegation zone and are aiming to open their second round with a victory over King Faisal on Sunday.
