Akunnor reveals talks with Yahaya Mohammed

Hearts coach CK Akunnor has revealed his desire to lure Yahaya Mohammed from Asante Kotoko.

The future of the talented former OGC Nice man has become a matter of intense conjecture in the local media after he was reportedly told to look elsewhere.

Hearts are determined to lure the midfielder to their fold after they slapped in an official bid for his services last month and the Hearts trainer has confirmed negotiations between both parties are ongoing.

“We are very much interested in Yahaya Mohammed of Kotoko fame and so we are hoping to tie the deal soon,”

“I have spoken with him but nothing concrete has been reached yet. He is a good player and will bring bite into the team if we manage to get him,”

I will urge our supporters to keep praying and supporting us.”

Hearts have been given the financial warchest to spend in the transfer market and are wasting no time in strengthening their squad for this season.

They have already bought Seth Owusu, Gilbert Fiamenyo and Emmanuel Ansong while deals for Ashantigold duo Malik Akowuah and John Ashong as well as Bechem United’s Richard Addai are ongoing.

The 2000 African Champions want to end their three-year trophy drought after playing catch-ups to rivals Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars.
