Akuffu powers to winning ways

Ghana league defending champions Asante Kotoko are back to winning ways after beating Liberty Professionals 1-0 on Saturday.

The Porcupine Warriors have consolidated their stay at the top of the log with the win that came through Michael Akuffu.

The midfielder bagged the solitary goal in the first half to put the Kumasi giants back on track after tasting their second defeat in the 2013-14 season of the Ghana Premier League last week against Heart of Lions at Kpando.

The 22-time league winners have now opened a five-point lead ahead of Ashantigold and fiercest rivals Hearts of Oak who will honour their matchday-10 games on Sunday.
