Former Local Black Stars skipper Michael Akuffo is convinced that the team can get a good results in Abidjan against the Ivorians this evening in order to make it to next year’s CHAN tournament in Rwanda.

The Al Ansar midfielder who led Ghana to win silver in the last event in South Africa believes the current Local Black Stars team can scale the herculian hurdle in Abidjan

“I know it won’t be easy but with determination, failure can never dismantle the flag of success. I want the players to concentrate and give their hearts out for the coach Maxwell Konadu because he is one of the best in Ghana. All Ghanaians will be happy by the close of the game.” Akuffo told Konongo-based Kings Radio

“I am wishing them all the best, I know they can do it. We have done it before, All my prayer is that God grant them his favour and blessings so that we can win and qualify for the CHAN tournament next year.”

Ghana came back from behind in the first leg to win 2-1 through a Joel Fameyeh brace and will need at least a draw to make it to the CHAN for the fourth consecutive time.
