Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko has called on Ghanaians to forget about the Black Stars disappointing showing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and move forward since it can't be reversed.

According to the former Hearts of Lions defender, the earlier Ghanaians forget about the happenings in Brazil in 2014 and focus on the future, the better for the football of the country.

He argued that no matter how the country continues to wail over the 2014 World Cup failure, what happened in Brazil can’t be changed adding ‘we learn from our mistakes’.

In an exclusive interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Jerry Akaminko said “It is long overdue. Ghanaians must forget about what happened in Brazil and move on.”

“We can’t always be crying over what happened years ago while the future is beckoning,” he added.

Jerry added that now that the World Cup group is out with the 2017 Afcon staring the nation in the face, Ghanaians must put away what happened in 2014.

“We now know our group for the World Cup, and it is a strong group. We need to start thinking and preparing about how to qualify from the group.

“That is most important. So are we going to talk about this for 100 years? He asked.

Jerry Akaminko sadly missed out of the 2014 World Cup after picking a last kick injury against the Netherlands in a pre-World Cup friendly.
