Accra, July 20, GNA - Airtel Ghana, a communications outfit has supported the on-going National Unity Games with a sponsorship package of GHC15, 000.

Donald Gwira, Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs of Airtel said his outfit is proud to be supporting the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority to revive the Unity Games.

He said “it gives us the opportunity to give back to the communities in which we operate. Sports, is a strong unifying factor, promotes good health and key to our development as it provides the channel for one to feel free and reach for Gold”.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA), last Sunday commenced the National Unity Games, with 5000 athletes competing in 20 sporting disciplines.

The Games are also aimed at rekindling the interest of the youth in sports and unearthing talents and also serve as a platform for the selection of teams to compete in the All Africa Games scheduled for Maputo, Mozambique in September this year and the London Olympic Games next year.
