Agyemang-Badu allays injury fears

Ghana workaholic midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is confident the injury he suffered on Thursday night in Udinese’s 1-1 with Celtic is not serious.

He is expected to be cleared by Friday when second tests are carried out on what looked like a serious injury in the Europa League game.

The 21-year-old picked a knock after clashing with Celtic’s Greek striker Georgios Samaras on the 29th minute and replaced.

The Black Stars midfielder was taken to hospital but initial checks reveal no serious injury to the player.

“I was taken to the hospital but doctors confirm the injury was not serious,” He told Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively.

Tomorrow they will run a scan and we will know but it is not anything serious. I went for a challenge with Samaras and unfortunately, he landed on my foot.”

Agyemang-Badu is expected to play a crucial role in Ghana’s campaign at the 2012 Nations Cup.

The injury came on the same day the tough-fighting midfielder was included in Ghana’s squad.
