Ghanaian sprinter Seidu Mammoudou Baba finished second in one of the heats for the men’s 400m hurdles at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championships.
The fast-paced athlete, though starting in lane three, positioned himself in second place from start to finish but could not achieve the ultimate victory to qualify for the next round.
A Botswana athlete finished first, maintaining his lead with consistent momentum throughout, while others took up the remaining positions.
Meanwhile, the second heat was not favorable for the host nation, as the Ghanaian athlete finished in last place.
Although he started well, he was eventually outpaced by his five competitors, who secured the leading spots.
A Kenyan athlete finished first, Botswana claimed second place, while South Africa ended in third.
On the other hand, Ghana’s female athlete emerged first in Heat One, sailing through to the semi-final.
