Adukpo, Lagble for Bamako Marathon

Two marathon runners, Godwin Adukpo and Raja Lagble will represent Ghana at this year’s Bamako International Marathon in Mali next week.

The Bamako gathering billed for Sunday February 2, will see the duo competing for the second time at the event set to bring Africa's best runners together.

Adukpo, Lagble together with their trainer, Bernard Ania will have the opportunity of improving their previous placement of second and third respectively, in the last two editions following a sponsorship package hovering around 20,000.00 cedis from Bank of Africa.

Festus Kwofie, Executive Head of Finance & Controls of the Bank told GNA Sports his outfit was dedicated towards unearthing and developing untapped talents in athletics, especially long distance runners in Africa, hence their support.

The Bamako marathon covers a distance of 42.195km and expected to feature more than 2000 runners across the continent.
