Aduana Stars captain Godfred Saka believes his side will emerge winners over Hearts of Oak in the 2016 Ghalca G6 final scheduled for Sunday.

The Dormaa Ahenkro-based club pipped regional rivals Bechem United 1-0 in the semi-finals to set up a date with the Phobians, who eliminated rivals Asante Kotoko 6-5 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

“The players are happy to make the final just like last year. This time around we want to win the title. During the final last year, we lost to Asante Kotoko in Takoradi, so this time we want to make amends and make our supporters happy,” Saka told Success FM.

"Hearts showed class against Kotoko in the other semi-finals game but our players have taken notes of several things. We will be meeting our coach at the training grounds and we will be rehearsing how to defeat them. It is a game that promises to be fireworks so we have to be prepared mentally and physically.

"This final can affect our campaign in the Ghana Premier League because last season we finished second in this tournament and also repeated it in the campaign. We want to win it now so that we can win the league title at the end of the season," he added.

Goal understands that Ghalca's top executives will be meeting within the week to deliberate on the venue to host the final after concerns were raised that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium won't attract a lot of supporters.
