The Member of Parliament for Adenta Constituency, Hon. Yaw Buaben Asamoa has cut a sod for the construction of a multi-purpose astro turf for the Adenta Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The modern complex is cited in the Adenta Village area, described as "the heart of Adenta", and when completed, it will be a welcome relief to the football-crazy constituency, as well as serve as a place for other social events.

Addressing Chiefs and elders of the constituency at a ceremony on Wednesday, the MP said the construction of the modern field is a fulfilment of a promise made by then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo three years ago to the people of the Constituency.

"Three years ago on this same field, then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo made a promise to you that if you vote for him and he becomes President of Ghana by the grace of God, he would construct a football field for you. Today is a realisation of that promise he made three years ago," Hon. Buaben Asamao told the gathering.

"We thank God and we thank the President for honouring his promise to the people of Adenta."

The MP said the construction of the complex will be immensely beneficial to the constituency not only in the area of sports, but also other social events.

"Our youth in this area are very passionate about football and this will be a great edifice for them to horn their talents and also produce more talents. Not only that, this complex will also be useful for a lot of social events. For instance our Muslim brothers can use here for Eid prayers, same us our Christian brothers can also use here for conventions," said the Hon. Buaben Asamoa.

The MP added that the complex is not the only development the President has earmarked for the constituency, adding that the ongoing road projects in the constituency are a testament to the President's commitment to the constituency.

"As you can all see, there have been development of roads in the constituency and more are ongoing, as well as the construction of gutters. This proves how committed the President is to fulfill the promise he made to you three years ago."

The MP called on the constituents to vote for the President again this year and retain him in office to continue with his development agenda for Ghana and the people of Adenta.

"President Akufo-Addo has kept faith with Ghana and the people of Adenta Constituency so let us retain him in office by giving him 4 more years to do more for Ghana and Adenta," Hon. Asamoa said.

"And when you give President Akufo-Addo 4 more, remember his son is here who has been facilitating all these development for the Constituency. So 4 more for Nana, 4 more for YB (Yaw Buaben)."

The Head of the Adenta Village Traditional Council, Nii Oko said the Traditional Council is happy with the development projects going on in the Adenta area and thanked the President, Nana Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his promise to the people of Adenta.

He also thanked the MP of the area, Hon. Yaw Buaben Asamoa for helping the community to get more development.
