Adamu, Celebrates Victory Over Dilks, Wants Rematch With Carl Froch

Ghana’s Two Time Commonwealth Super Middleweight Champion Charles ‘The Crusader’ Adamu celebrated his victory over Liverpool’s Carl ‘Dynamite’ Dilks on Friday night by calling out current WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch.
Adamu, who first lifted the Commonwealth belt back in August 2003 with a scintillating performance over Southampton’s Matthew Barney, controversially lost the decision to Carl Froch, in his home city of Nottingham, on the 12th March 2004.
Returning to his UK training base, Rooney’s Boxing Gym in Southwark, on Saturday morning the Ghanaian spoke of his battle with Carl Dilks and his future plans. “I feel good, very good. My opponent (Carl Dilks) was a good boxer but I felt confident I would win the title again.
I am going to defend this title and then I want to meet Carl Froch. I’m going to beat Carl Froch. Last time I was the winner and they gave the fight to him.
I went back home and I work and I work. Now I want to meet Carl Froch again and this time I will destroy him.”
Charles Adamu and his coaching team, who fly home to Ghana on Monday for a well earned rest over the Christmas Holiday season, are eager to get back into the gym and prepare for a planned title defense early in 2010 which will hopefully lead to the much deserved rematch with Carl Froch in the near future.
