The Confederations of African Football (CAF) have named Accra as the host City for the 2017 GLO CAF awards.

The capital of Ghana will be hosting the awards gala for the fifth time having hosted in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012.

CAF on Wednesday released the names of shortlisted players to compete for honors on January 4.

The event which is expected to take place at the State Banquet Hall will have some renowned CAF officials including president Ahmad Ahmad as well as some great football personalities on the continent.

Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon, Senegalese Sadio Mane and Nigerian star Victor Moses are some of the household names on the 30-man shortlist.

Ghanaian duo Christian Atsu and Thomas Partey also made the cut for the award.
