Hard-hitting Accra-based Nigerian boxer, Joshua Wahab, from the Charles Quartey Boxing Gym, has secured the most significant fight of his career, attracting millions of potential satellite TV viewers.

The 26-year-old, who has lived and trained in Ghana for the past eight years, has been given a dream opportunity to compete for the WBC lightweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, against a fast-rising and undefeated English boxer.

Wahab is set to face British lightweight title contender John Mark Chamberlain in what promises to be an explosive bout preceding the highly anticipated main event between Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury.

"It's been a tough journey for me, but I have been praying and training all my life for a moment like this. By God's grace, the time has come, and I am fully ready for the biggest challenge of my career," said Wahab.

The West African boxer has been training intensely in Accra in preparation for the global boxing event.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the main event of the night when heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Alexander Usyk vie for supremacy.

The two heavyweight titans will battle it out for all four belts on May 18th, after their original February date was postponed due to a cut Fury sustained in one of his final sparring sessions.
