Accra Turf Club Board reconstituted

The Accra Turf Club has elected a 12 member Board of Trustees to steer the affairs of the Club with the mandate of ensuring that horse racing bounces back.

The Board has Mr Robert Odenkey Mensah, as chairman, Mr Samuel Turkson, Secretary, Mr Pucci Filleppi, Treasurer and Mr Charles Bruce-Tagoe, as Publicity Officer respectively.

The others are Mrs Elizabeth Davies, Mr Nour Captan, Thomas Jones Nelson, Godwin Quaye, Mudeke Aryeetey, Alhaji Amadu Alhassan, Perigrino Sulley Braimah, Richard Adotey Addo.

Mr Robert Mensah said the Board would ensure that work is expedited at the new site, off the Motorway near Nungua farms, for races to commence by September or October, this year.

He urged members to put their energies together and make the move to revive horse racing in the country and appealed to the government to assist to revive the sport.

“We have decided to start some partial racing to revive the interest of lovers of horse racing at the new site as soon as possible,” he emphasised.
