Accra Sports Stadium renovation put on hold

The Youth and Sports Ministry, has confirmed that the Accra Sports Stadium renovation has been put on hold.

Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah had earlier announced that the nation Wembley will be closed down for renovation this month.

But according to the spokes person for the ministry, Elvis Adjei Baah, after a round table discussion with the Ghana premier league stakeholders including the GFA and GHALCA the renovation has been pushed to September.

“It’s true we met with the various stakeholders and have agreed to their proposal but in order to protect life and property and for our own safety to avoid any disaster, we have decided that that the VIP, VVIP area and the media stand has been closed down to the public.” he told Starr Sports.
