Accra Rugby 7s Gala

Rugby enthusiasts and loyalists will once again converge on the AJAX PARK of the University of Ghana, to partake in the celebration of rugby in grand style as they contribute in diverse ways towards the success of the Accra Rugby Sevens Gala.

The Accra Rugby Sevens Gala which will kick off at 10am on Saturday, 3rd December 2011 is likely to be the Ghana Rugby Association’s final showdown for the year, and therefore will feature teams from all of rugby’s warehouses which include Accra, Cape Coast and Kumasi.

CLIFTON HOMES, A Real Estate Company will be the headline sponsor of this all inclusive rugby gala, with support from Yes Mineral Water and DHL Ghana Limited.
Come and be a witness to the beauty of the game as the best of rugby teams in the Country battle it out at the University of Ghana on the AJAX PARK.
This promises to be especially competitive because aside the fact that teams are coming from other Regions beside Greater Accra, most of these teams also participated in the Greater Accra Rugby League which premiered earlier in the year and will be looking to undo each other in the final clash.

Teams such as; Accra Sharks, Dansoman Hurricanes, Cosmos Buffaloes, Coastal Beach Boys, Ketu Warriors, Kumasi Falcons among others, are expected to feature in the Gala in December.

Side attraction will include a match between a Cape Coast juvenile side and an Accra based juvenile side, there will also be a match between ladies from Cape Coast against ladies from Accra.

The Ghana Rugby Association is very grateful to all companies that supported rugby throughout the year and is especially grateful to CLIFTON HOMES for putting the icing on the cake.

We still urge all interested individuals and companies to come forward and support in what ever way they can. i.e. sponsor a national team, sponsor a tournament, sponsor an IRB Coaches Course, adopt a team etc.
We finally and very importantly invite all media houses to help grow the sport as the key to development lies with the media.
