Accam eyes Ghana recall

Helsingborg IF player David Accam is working towards a Ghana recall ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

Accam had his debut and only senior national team call-up in March, 2013 in a World Cup qualifier against Sudan. Although the midfielder was an unused substitute, the Right to Dream product believes his chances of breaking into the Black Stars setup are bright with a great deal of hard work on his part.

“I hope I can get the chance to add my skills to the team,” LiquidSports quoted the 23-year-old. “I will always work hard and when I get my chance I will take it.”

“As a footballer I just need time. Maybe it might not go well at one time, but I need to look out for another opportunity.”

Accam has scored 10 goals in the Swedish Allsvenskan and three more in the Swedish Cup. The speedster said it took a great deal of effort to achieve that feat..

“It was down to hard work because not every winger can score 13 goals. I know I could have done much better but I have to take my time and improve upon that every year. You always have to set your goals, not unrealistic goals every season,” the former Ostersunds FK player stated.
