Aboakyer Marathon Tomorrow

The annual Aboakyer marathon will take centre stage at Winneba tomorrow when the nation?s crack long distance athletes parade in the old fishing town to compete for honours.

The event which ushers in the high profile Aboakyer Festival of the Effutus scheduled for Saturday, May 1, is expected to be grand this time round considering the attractive package put in place by both the organisers and sponsors.

As usual, Promasidor Ghana Limited, producers of Cowbell Milk, who have been associated with the competition which enters its third year, are supporting the programme with their products and some attractive prizes.The highly-competitive marathon will see David Zigah defending his male trophy while Aba Yaaba Koomson stakes her title in the female division.

To grace the occasion will include Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mr Mike Hammah, MP for Effutu, Dr E. Owusu-Ansah, Mr Sammy Ashie and Prof. Anamuah Mensah, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
