Abedi Pele ready to work with CAF President

Football Legend, Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ has expressed his readiness to work with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad.

Ahmad Ahmad, President of the Madagascan Football Association took the CAF Presidency mantle after he defeated Issa Hayatou the longest serving President during the General elections a forth night ago in Addis Ababa

In 1998, Abedi was evacuated from the CAF administrative body after he was alleged to have declared his stands for former FIFA boss Joseph Sepp Blatter who was contending with his boss Issa Hayatou during the FIFA elections.

The three times African footballer of the year Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ has publicly affirmed his admiration and readiness to work with the CAF President if they decide to reinstate him at CAF.

“The new CAF President is someone I respect very much. He has been at CAF for so many years and is very experienced.”

“He has only been president for a few weeks, but I hope he does very well at the helm and I pray his dreams and objectives concerning CAF are fulfilled. I also believe those he has appointed to help him will do their best.”

“They haven’t laid down any specific thing for us to do, but what I know is that I had a long discussion with him in Morocco and the future looks very bright,” he said

As a player Abedi ‘Pele’ captained the Black Stars to win the 1988 African Cup, he also assisted Olympique Marseille to annex the UEFA Champions League in 1993 and three League titles
