Abdul Salam: Let’s support Anagbla’s family

Yakubu Abdul Salam, Founder and President of New Edubiase FC
is urging the Ghanaian football fraternity to offer their best support to the
family of recently deceased GFA Vice President Jordan Anagbla in recognition of
the huge contributions he made to the progress of Ghana football.
The late Anagbla is due to be laid to rest this Saturday
July 14 after a funeral service at the Accra Sports Stadium and close pal Abdul
Salam is concerned about the welfare of the widow and children the only African
U-20 World Cup winning Chairman has left behind.
“I was at the one week celebration of his death and I think
many people heard me say how good a man he was. He was a very nice man unless
you were not close to him,” a solemn Abdul Salam told 90 MINUTES.
The Edubiase capo added: “I stayed with him at the same
hotel during Ghana’s AFCON 2012 campaign and the way he gives his advises and
speaks to you are just appreciative. He was a very strict man who is not afraid
to point what he thinks is right or wrong to anyone,”
He continued. “Now he’s no more and he needs our prayers, as
that is the most important thing. As a Moslem, when somebody dies, you always
have to remember them in your prayers. Let’s pray for Anagbla that Allah should
send him to a good place.
“I will also urge my GFA members and club administrators alike
to take care of the family he’s left behind. I think it’s very nice that we
take care of the children and their education.
“So I’m telling all of us in the football fraternity not to
abandon his family but contribute as much as we can to support them at this
difficult moment.”
