Abdul Muqeet wins Hunter’s National Pool Tournament

Abdul Muqeet from Kumasi defied all odds and strong challenge from Daniel Promise to grab the 5,000GHC at stake and the trophy for the 2014 National Pool Tournament sponsored by Hunter’s Gold Cider.
The competition which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium attracted a large crowd and media attention as the 64 finalists lined up to size up and face each other.
At the end fantastic displays from all the participants, five grand finalists emerged and Abdul Muqeet, a second hands goods seller from KNUST area defeated favourite Daniel Promise who took a two straight lead, but faded to a 3-2 final score line.
Bamidele took third place as Victor Myers was fourth, and Gerald Agyepong making history with the fifth position.
Nana Agyeman a keen Pool enthusiast that all the participants and media who attended the second National Pool Championship sole sponsored by Hunters Gold Cider.
The energetic Amamere Dance Ensemble treated fans of the Pool game with music and dance.
The winner, Abdul Muqeet 25 told yours truly he started playing the game when he was 12 years old and hopes to play to international level as he has now been recognised as a star in the game.
