ATL open championships on March 31

Accra, March 16, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) in conjunction with the Akomsombo Textile Limited will organize the third national invitational table tennis championship on Saturday, March 31.

The championship dubbed 93ATL National Invitational Tournament" will be held at the Seven Great Princess Academy Auditorium at Dansoman in Accra.

The competition forms part of preparations towards the All Africa Games scheduled for Algiers, Algeria in July this year. A statement signed by Kwame Amponfi (Jnr), Secretary General 96 GTTA said, participants would be provided with accommodation and feeding and return transport fares of all accredited Regional Contingents would be catered for on arrival on Friday March 30, 2007.

The statement urged all Regional Sports Development Officers and Regional Table Tennis Coaches of the National Sports Council to liaise with the GTTA.

According to the statements, Northern, Upper West and East regions are entitled to four slots each for players, made up of two male and two female players in addition to an official.

Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, Volta, Western, Eastern, Central and Greater Accra regions have six slots each, made up of three boys and three girls in addition to an official. 16 March 07
