The African Sporting Initiative Ghana (ASIG) has congratulated the Black Stars for beating seven times African Cup winners, Egypt 6-1 to get nearer to qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

President of ASIG Alberta Tilly Acquah said they are very proud of the Black Stars for scoring many goals as the life blood of football is goals.

She noted that the whole of Africa is looking to Ghana to go out to Brazil and shock the world after the impressive performances at Germany in 2006 and South Africa 2010. According to Tilly Acquah, it is time for Africa to win the World Cup and Ghana is capable. She also commended some countries like Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Cote d Ivoire who are all West African nations and are on the qualifying lane after winning their first leg games of the play offs.

Cynthia Akwele Lamptey, an executive member of the Initiative said the Black Stars are the hope of the continent of Africa and it is very good that they scored so many goals against Egypt.

She noted that the Pharoahs are not ready for the World Cup following g the unrest in their country and the best football on the African continent is now in the west. She applauded GNPC for increasing the winning bonus of the Stars which motivated them to outscore the Pharoahs.

Dennis Moore PRO of the ASIG told yours truly the game was very interesting and he was glad an African in the person of Coach Kwesi Appiah is leading Ghana to the FIFA World Cup, and he is doing it in grand style by scoring more goals and encouraging both experienced and youthful exuberance. He said the Black Stars is an all round team and the players are charged up for greater glories even greater than the World Cup. He was sad Ghana has failed when much was expected like the 2013 World Cup in South Africa when Ghana was the only African nation in the tournament before they were eliminated by Uruguay. According to Moore who is a sports presenter, Ghana is capable of winning the World Cup and that must be the focus of all Ghanaians and it would come into reality. ASIG is preparing to take part in an International Under 15 Football Tournament in Togo. Players have been selected after series of training at the Fire Service Training School Park near James Town in Accra.

Other countries invited to participate in the event are Togo, Nigeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Cote d Ivoire. Dennis Moore said the objective of the football tournament is to forster unity among African countries whilst unearthing talents in football. He called on the business community to contribute to sports in Africa as part of their social responsibility.
