FIFA frees Ochaya from Kotoko

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has finally come out and made a decision on Joseph Ochaya- Asante Kotoko long standing conflict by clearing him to join the club of his choice.

Ochaya who left the Ghanaian outfit unceremoniously after they block his move to German has been training with KCC FC since mid-last year and the Ugandan champions confirmed receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) on Wednesday afternoon.

“We have received his (Ochaya) ITC and he is now ready to play for the club,” Peter Kibazo, a club official is quoted on the club’s website.

KCC FC also added that on receiving the ITC, they sent his name immediately to CAF for clearance ahead of the CAF Champions League tie against Cameroon’s Cosmos De Bafia.

“We are doing everything possible to ensure he is cleared before the game on Saturday (against Cosmos De Bafia) and we’ve sent all the necessary documentation to get him a CAF license,” club Secretary David Tamale confirmed.

“Even if he misses the first leg, we are optimistic he will be available for the return match in a fortnight and the second round of the UPL.”
