Schalke 04 and Senegalese defender Salif Sane has cautioned his Senegalese teammates ahead of their quarter-final clash with The Squirrels of Benin at the 30 June Sports Stadium tomorrow for a semi-final spot.
Benin who are yet to win a game in regulation time so far as this campaign is concerned will have to prove their wealth again as they come up against star-studded Senegal team who are poised on winning their first continental showpiece after coming so close in 2004?
Many football pundits and supporters are tipping the Terenga Lions as the favourites for the first semi-final game in AFCON 2019.
Salif Sane has cautioned his side to be very careful and cautious against the Squirrels because “they are not in the quarter finals by chance but on merit.”
“All the teams have one goal, which is winning the tournament. We will also give anything to be crowned as champions. Benin are not here by chance and that’s why we should respect to avoid defeat” he said at a pre-match conference.
