Ghana has massive injury problems ahead of Sunday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Maputo after three key players joined the injury list following Thursday's 3-1 win over Mozambique.

The Black Stars recorded the win over Mozambicans in Accra on Thursday, but there were further worries for coach Avram Grant on the injury front.

The former Chelsea manager already had a number of first-team players Andre Ayew, David Accam and captain Asamoah Gyan unavailable for Thursday's game because of various degrees of injuries.

The Israeli coach's woes compounded during Thursday's match when Frank Acheampong, John Boye and Mubarak Wakaso all picked up injury problems during the game in Accra.

Acheampong, perhaps the most in-form European-based player at the moment, was stretchered off at half-time while Wakaso and Boye were replaced in the second half.

The situation has heightened the injury situation in the team with captain Asamoah Gyan and his assistant Andre Ayew out of the reverse fixture in Maputo on Sunday.

Frank Acheampong set the Black Stars on their way with the opening goal after only four minutes had been played.

On 56 minutes John Boye, captain in place of the injured Asamoah Gyan, doubled the lead and two minutes later Aston Villa's Jordan Ayew made it 3-0.

Apson Manjate pulled a goal back for the visitors but Ghana easily extended their lead at the top of Group H.
