4,000 World Cup tickets for Ghana fans

Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Fred Crentsil has announced procedures and process for football fans who want to apply for tickets to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Brazil from June 12 to July 13, 2014.

Addressing a press conference on how football supporters and fans from Ghana can get tickets for the World Cup, Crentsil who has been appointed to handle the ticketing issues for Ghana and has under gone a training programme organized by FIFA urged interested people to visit the GFA website www.ghanafa.com download and fill the tickets application form before February 4 and then submit to the GFA for processing to FIFA.

He said the GFA is establishing tickets allocation platforms and advised football fans to pay for their tickets by February 28, 2014, before collecting the match tickets in Brazil.

According to the man in charge of ticketing for the FIFA World Cup for Ghana, there would be an administrator for tickets to be allocated to groups and credit card holders are also eligible to apply and pay after downloading and filling the forms.

Fred Crentsil adviced each household not to apply for more than four match tickets, which are also not transferable and persons should apply in individual capacities.

He gave the breakdown for the various categories and ticket prices as follows:

Group Stage – Category One (VVIP) -$175, Category Two - $135, Category Three - $ 90. Round 16 – Category One (VVIP) - $242, Category Two - $182, Category Three - $121. Quarter Finals – Category One (VVIP) - $363, Category Two - $242, Category Three - $182. Semi

Finals – Category One (VVIP) - $726, Category Two - $484, Category Three - $303. 3rd Place – Category One (VVIP) - $323, Category Two - $242, Category Three - $182 and theFinals as Category One (VVIP) - $1,089, Category Two - $726 and Category Three - $484.

For those who want to watch the Opening Ceremony and first match, they will pay $495 for Category One, $330 for Category Two and $220 for Category Three.

The Communications Director of the GFA Ibrahim Sannie Darra noted that FIFA want to curb tickets racketeering hence the world body controlling football have put in measures to ensure the safty of fans and protection from all forms of vices.

Samson Deen, CEO of African Origin Travel and Sports Tourism, one of the agencies taking fans to Brazil appealed to the GFA to support Ghanaians to apply for tickets not purchased or for rejected visa applicants. Fred Crentsil assured that tickets not purchased would be drawn in a pool for others to apply for. He urged Ghanaians to decide now on whether they are going to watch the matches from the Group Stage to the Finals as Ghana’s Black Stars would go very far in the competition.

Mean while, three Travel & Tour agencies have proved their seriousness of taking fans to Brazil for the FIFA World Cup after presenting their offers to football fans. They are Kenpong Travel, Bahmed Travel & Tours and African Origin Travel and Sports Tourism.

These Travel Agencies have packaged the World Cup Programme into an attractive tourism event bearing slogans like 2014 Destination BRAZIL.

Bahmed has a contract with Emirates Airlines whilst Kenpong comes with dedicated charted flights to all match destinations and hotel / shared apartments (en – suite) in Natal in Brazil as well as other incentives and benefits costing $6,250 for economy class and $10,500 for the Business class African Origin Travels announced a 'Nature', 'Friendly' and 'Passion for Football' package called FULECO USD$3000.
