The Black Stars of Ghana are set to begin their first training session today, September 2, 2024, in Accra as they prepare for their opening matches in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The national team is gearing up for a crucial September international break, with upcoming fixtures against Angola and Niger as they seek to secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.

On August 29, 2024, head coach Otto Addo unveiled his squad for the matches, featuring notable stars such as Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Thomas Partey. This announcement has generated enthusiasm among fans and players, marking the start of an important phase in the team’s journey.

By August 31, 2024, seven invited players had already reported to the Black Stars' camp. These early arrivals include Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Wollacott, Ibrahim Osman, Jonas Adjetey, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Frederick Asare.

Additional squad members are expected to join the camp on Monday morning, setting the stage for the first official training session later in the evening under Coach Otto Addo’s supervision.

The session will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Black Stars will kick off their campaign with a home match against Angola on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Following this, the team will travel to Niger for their first away game of the qualifiers. These fixtures are crucial as Ghana aims for a strong start in the race for AFCON 2025.
