Ghana coach Bashir Hayford hit back at a journalist for labeling him ‘tactically bankrupt’ in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat suffered at the hands of Mali on Tuesday.

Qualification to the knock out phase for the Black Queens has become even more difficult after suffering the crashing defeat before the home fans to Les Aiglonnes.

Ghana failed to carve out clear-cut chances despite having the lion’s share of possession.

A passionate Ghanaian journalist in posing a question to coach Hayford at the post-match press conference labeled him tactically bankrupt of which the experienced trainer didn’t take lightly.

“Who is bankrupt?” Hayford retorted.

“That word is a borrowed word and must be used appropriately in certain situations.

“Tactical bankruptcy means you can’t put a team together.

“It means the team played pattern-less but that surely wasn’t the case here.

“We played almost 65% of the game. Go and watch it again.

“If I am also to borrow a word to describe you, it will be something else.”
