2015 Mo Ibrahim Cup:Local select side to play TP Mazembe

A local select side will battle DR Congo giants TP Mazembe for the 2015 Africa United Cup – an event to climax the Mo Ibrahim Annual Governance Weekend.

The local select side, named the ‘Dream Team’ will predominantly feature players selected from the various Premier League clubs in Ghana to battle the CAF Champions League title-chasers at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 22.

The Dream Team will also feature guest players including former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, Godwin Attram and John Mensah.

Primeval Media have been contracted by the Office of the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation to organize the football match which is only an aspect of the Annual Governance Weekend which will span over a three-day period.

“It is going to be a three-day event which starts on the Friday 20th of November, then there will be a musical concert on the Saturday before the match on the Sunday,” Chief Executive Officer of Primeval Media Larry Opare Otoo said at the launch of the football match on Tuesday.

Primeval Media have already written to the respective local clubs to secure the services of their players.

The organizing body have also appointed coach of second tier club Dreams FC C.K Akunnor to be the technical head of the Dream Team.

Fans will be entertained before, during and after the match by acts from leading Ghanaian artistes Gasmilla and Shatta Wale with the renowned DJ Black on the turntables.
