Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams says he knew he would certainly be part of Ghana’s provisional World Cup squad.
The 27-year-old is the only locally-based player in the 26-man squad announced on Monday by head coach Kwesi Appiah.
Adams is set to play in his first World Cup finals with only three goalkeepers picked.
He put up a sterling showcase at the 2014 African Nations Championship and that was what he used to justify his inclusion.
“I believed that I was going to be part of the squad. That was my prayer.” Stephen Adams told Fox FM
“Pray for us so that all goes well at the World Cup.”
Adams was named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2010 finals but dropped in the final cut.
