16 Constituencies astroturf stadia built under the 'one constituency one AstroTurf project'

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wembley Sports Construction Limited, Robert Tetteh Coleman has revealed that the one constituency one AstroTurf project has taken shape in 16 constituencies.

Wembley Sports Complex which is a private construction firm is expected to oversee the putting up of as many as 270 AstroTurf pitches across all constituencies in the country.

The initiative is one of the few projects dear to the heart of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is looking forward to providing the infrastructure that will contribute to the development of sports in the country.

In an interview with Peace FM’s Kwame Sefa Kayi, Mr. Robert Tetteh Coleman who is spearheading the AstroTurf project shared, “So far we have constructed about 16 parks across the country and still counting. It is a vision in progress and we believe it is high time every constituency in the country gets an AstroTurf. Sakora (grass-less) Park is a thing of the past and that is what we want to navigate or walk away from”.

The project is expected to continue and will see 270 AstroTurf pitches constructed across all the regions.

Mr. Coleman further extended his appreciation to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo as well as the CEO of Zoomlion Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyapong for the respective roles they are playing to ensure the project becomessuccessful.
