100 to vie for J.S. Addo Seniors Golf trophy

Accra, Oct. 2, GNA - All is set for this year's J.S. Addo Seniors Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, October 7.

Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said about 100 senior golfers between the ages of 55 and above are expected to participate in the event.

He said the competition, which shall be played under the rules of the World's Golf Governing body and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club, is being sponsored by Ecobank Ghana Limited.

Mr Oteng-Aboagye said that the event is being played in honour of Mr J.S. Addo, former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the first Board Chairman of Ecobank Ghana Limited.

Veteran golfers who had registered for the competition include Michael Ezan, Kwame Saarah- Mensah, John Sam, Air Commodore K.K Pumpuni, Gilbert Morgan and Michael Aggrey.

The Ladies category will also see veteran golfers like Mona Captan, Florence Etwi Barimah, Yaa Konadu, Sarfo Debrah, Ama Morgan and Francisca Vandyck.

Mr E.P.L. Gyampoh, Board Chairman of Ecobank Ghana Limited is to be the Special Guest of Honour.
