Kelvin Nkrumah produced a sensational extra-time performance, scoring a remarkable hat-trick to propel Medeama SC to a dramatic 3-0 victory over Attram De Visser FC in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup on Sunday evening at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The match remained tightly contested throughout the 90 minutes, with both sides unable to break the deadlock despite several goal attempts. Attram De Visser, who had impressed with their giant-killing run in the competition, held their own against the Premier League leaders during regulation time.
However, the game turned decisively in extra time when Kelvin Nkrumah produced a remarkable performance for the Mauve and Yellow.
The forward struck three times in the second half of extra time to seal a dramatic victory for Medeama, completing a late hat-trick that ended the Division One side’s impressive FA Cup campaign.
Attram De Visser had entered the match with confidence after a strong run in the tournament, including a dominant 4-0 win over Eleven Wonders in the Round of 16 and reaching the semi-finals last season.
Medeama’s victory now sets up a semi-final clash with Dreams FC, who earlier progressed after beating Heart of Lions on penalties.
The Tarkwa-based club continue their pursuit of another FA Cup title as they balance their cup run with a strong challenge in the Ghana Premier League.
