Ghana assistant coach Desmond Offei has named his starting lineup for the Black Stars’ international friendly against Mexico, with Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare retaining his place between the sticks following his strong performances in the Ghana Premier League.
Belgium-based midfielder Majeed Ashimeru will captain the side as Ghana continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a largely experimental squad in Puebla.
The Black Stars are set up in a 4-4-2 formation for the encounter, with Jan Kwasi Gyamerah, Nathaniel Adjei, Oscar Oppong and Terry Yegbe making up the defensive line in front of Asare.
In midfield, Emmanuel Agyei joins Ibrahim Osman, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Ashimeru, who is expected to provide leadership and creativity in the centre of the park.
Up front, Felix Afena-Gyan leads the attack alongside Daniel Agyei as both forwards look to impress against the Mexican national team.
The international friendly will kick off at 8:00pm local time in Puebla, which corresponds to 2:00 a.m GMT on Saturday.
