Visibly affected by the loss of his friend and colleague, the New Patriotic Party's Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, was seen in a grief-stricken state at the funeral of Mr. John Kumah.

At the burial service, Chairman Wontumi, who arrived to offer his final respect to the late former Ejisu MP cum Deputy Finance minister, was unable to contain his sorrow after viewing the body.

Flanked by associates and security personnel, Wontumi approached where John Kumah's body was laid, and after paying his respect to the late deputy finance minister, he was overcome with emotion, weeping openly.

Chairman Wontumi is among several New Patriotic Party(NPP) members profoundly affected by John Kumah's passing.

The funeral was also attended by dignitaries such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP's National Chairman Stephen Ayensu Ntim, General Secretary Justin Kodua, Mr. John Boadu, Kwabena Agyapong, and many others, all there to honour the memory of Mr. John Kumah.

Wontumi’s earlier tribute to John Kumah:

In the wake of John Kumah's passing, Wontumi had expressed his sentiments, referring to him as a "loyal friend and a faithful brother," whose absence would be felt across the Ashanti Region.

He reminisced about how Kumah had supported him during a life-threatening episode some time ago.

"My dear friend and brother, John Kumah, you leave my heart heavy and my eyes brimming with tears. I'm shattered and at a loss for words. The shock and disbelief are overwhelming. Your departure reminds me of the time you were there for me, ensuring my survival when I was on the brink of death. Little did I know that I would live to face the heartbreak of your loss," Wontumi penned in his tribute.
