Iranian side Persepolis are looking forward to sign former Arsenal defender and free agent Daniel Jesse Boateng after visa issues halted a move two weeks ago.
After struggling in the weeks of Iran's Professional League, the red giants are looking to strengthen their defense line.
Negotiations are done between Persepolis and Boateng's agent, Goal Ghana understands. Club officials thus sent a letter to the Iranian Consulate in London asking to facilitate the England defender's visit to Iran.
The 21-year-old defender who has previously played for Swindon Town, Oxford United and Hibernian is currently a free agent after being released by the Gunners.
Persepolis are also reportedly close to sign Costa Rican defender Michael Umaña to partner Boateng. The 32-year-old defender who was a regular starter in Costa Rica’s surprise World Cup campaign is expected to arrive in Tehran in the coming days to sign a contract with the red giants.
