Bechem United accept Ghana Premier League demotion

Relegated Bechem United say they will no longer pursue boardroom points to retain their Ghana Premier League status.

The club-making their debut last term-finished in 15th place but filed a protest against another relegated side Wassaman United for yielding an unqualified player.

If they had been successful, they would have been three points richer and that would have moved them just above the relegation mark.

Berekum Arsenal who survived on the last day of competition will then have dragged into the relegation zone to join Mighty Jets and Wassaman.

"The club will no longer go to FIFA as planned for justice after the FA dismissed their case," Bechem Chief Executive Kingsley Osei-Bonsu said.

"The decision from our president was that we should do away with the case and consider ourselves as sacrificial lambs.''

Bechem United are now preparing for the new division one league season just after one year of being in the premier league.
