Drama as late goal down Jets into relegation

Mighty Jets have gone down in relegation after a late goal denied them the three points that could have salvaged their campaign at the Golden City Park.

The Tudu-side drew 1-1 with dethroned champions, Berekum Chelsea on the final day of the Glo Premier League.

Nuru Sulley scored the opener in the 74th minute to hand them hope.

Jets appeared to be coasting to victory which could secure them their premiership place next season after Hearts of Oak had defeated Berekum Arsenal 4-0 in Accra.

But in the 90th minute, Abdul Basit struck hard a freekick into the net to hand 10-man Chelsea a share of the spoils which condemned Jets into relegation alongside Bechem United and Wassaman.
