National Female Handball Team Starts Local Preparations

The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) has been invited by the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB) to participate in the African Handball Challenge Trophy scheduled for Abidjan, La Cote D’Ivoire from 8th to 17th May, 2010. It would be recalled that, the National Female Handball Team won the last edition in Lome, Togo in 2008 and therefore has to defend it.

In view of this important assignment, the under listed 18 players and Two (2) coaches have been invited to commence training and preparation towards the event.

The players are;

1. Rose Adjavon — Future Stars

3. Danso Susuana — Ghana Armed Forces

4. Juliana Partey — HOSTAC

5. Rebecca Sekyebea — Ghana Prisons

6. Rahinatu Iddrisu — Future Stars

7. Franklyna Mensah — Ghana Police Service

8. Esther Ayrade — Schools & Colleges (VOLTA)

9. Doris Agyemang — Ghana Police Service

10. Philipine Dede Ossom — Ghana Armed Forces

11. Catherine Acolatse — HOSTAC

12. Dorothy Akwolaga — Schools & Colleges (ASHANTI)

13. Gloria Nyinaku — Asomdwe

14. Linda Nkansah — HOSTAC

15. Jacqueline Mensah — Schools and Colleges (WESTERN)

16. Fati Iddrisu — Fire Service

17. Lawrencia Lartey — Ghana Prisons

18. Gifty Nortey — Ghana Police Service

The Coaches are George Bankole (Head Coach, Handball) and Emmanuel N.K. Ankrah (Coach). Currently, the team is rigorously training at the Kaneshie Sports Complex from 7am to 10am daily.
