‘Otabil is Uncaring Comedian’

Akomea Fumes, After Admitting Education Cannot Be Free

Pastor Mensa Otabil, who was once loved by the NPP, is now the target of NPP’s vulgar and insulting behaviour in the wake of the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church’s strong stance against Nana Akufo-Addo’s “lie-lie” Free SHS fairytale.

The likes of Gabby Otchere-Darko and Kwame Akufo, were all over the place last week, calling Pastor Otabil all kinds of names for exposing Akufo-Addo as a liar who is desperately wanting to become President “At all cost”.

NPP serial callers were also on the airwaves, especially Kennedy Agyepong’s Oman FM and Ash FM, referring to Pastor Mensa Otabil as a “Devil” who has been sent to destroy the already dim chance of Nana Akufo-Addo.

This week, it is no less a person than Akufo-Addo’s Director of Communications, Nana Olege Akomea, who is leading the NPP’s onslaught on Pastor Mensa Otabil. Commenting on the latest recording which captures Mensa Otabil making mockery of Akufo-Addo and is Free SHS “toli”, Nana Akomea said Otabil is a comedian, who must not be taken seriously at all.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s EkoSii Sen Programme on Monday, 5 November 2012, after The Informer broke the story, Akomea did not mince his words, when taking-on the Overseer of ICGC.

Speaking specifically to Otabil’s stance that parents must take responsibility for the upbringing of their children, Akomea said “

“I feel sorry for Otabil because he is a very uncaring person. For the kind of person that he is, he should have a caring heart, but it is unfortunate that he does not care”; Akomea added.

Once again, the NPP has exhibited its true character of being unable to stomach genuine criticism as well as divergent opinion.

As far as Akufo-Addo, Jake, Akomea and co are concerned, Ghanaians should continue to be daft and swallow the impracticable Free SHS promise, hook, line and sinker.

Ironically, it is the selfsame Nana Akomea who admitted on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme weeks ago that he did not have a clue as to how much it would cost the NPP to implement their Free SHS When pushed to the wall to give the total cost that would be involved in funding their Free SHS, Akomea admitted boldly that “I don’t know the total cost of funding.” Indeed, Nana Akomea admitted that education CANNOT be free and that it would be funded by the taxpayer.

“Everybody knows that education cannot be free; it would be funded by the taxpayer” Akomea confessed.

According to Akomea, Ghanaians would be taxed to fund the free education and that there is no way it can be free.

What Akomea did not say openly, is the fact that, under an Akufo-Addo Leadership, Ghanaians should be prepared to be taxed heavily.

Giving a practical example to buttress his point, Akomea said that the fact that we drive on certain roads and don’t pay tolls does not mean that it is free; and that once it is state funds that was used to construct the road, it is the taxpayer that paid for the construction.

Nana Akomea knows it for a fact that Pastor Mensa Otabil is speaking the truth and exposing Akufo-Addo as liar who is only desperate for power; and instead of the NPP’s Director of Communications shutting up, he rather chooses to call the respected man of God names – and tags him, a comedian.
