Atta Mills, “Asomdwehene” Cloak Ripped By Lies

, Intimidation, Corruption And Hypocricy.

From: Stephen A. Quaye, Toronto-Canada.

The Secretary of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] chapter in Toronto, Prince Ofosu Sefah, has observed that the cloak of “Asomdwehene” conferred on President John Evans Atta Mills has been ripped by intimation, corruption and lies and that Ghanaians should not think of retaining his government in power come 2012.
“ He claim to be the father of all and for that matter the Asomdwehene, but he strokes in different direction and allow his party fellows to do so many diabolic activities” he observed.
He said, Ghanaians conferred the cloak of Asomdwehene on the tax professor some years ago thinking he made peace prevail after the 2004 elections but the recent intimidations, hypocrisy and lies being experienced under his government as the chief executive of the country now does not truly make him the Asomdwehene that he was believed to be.
Prince Ofosu Sefah, made the observation when he granted this reporter an exclusive interview over the weekend to comment about the recent reports of intimidation, brutalities, abuse and lies being carried out by political bigwigs in NDC during the by-elections at Atiwa, Akwatia and the disgrace caused at the Fetu Festival in Cape Coast recently.
According to him, he was expecting that as a supposed democrat, president Mills will ensure that the security services look into to the brutalities said to have been carried out by his party boys and make sure that the party does not go round sending gangsters like the Azorka boys to Atiwa and Akwatia to cause mayhem.
To prevent further occurrences of brutalities at polling stations and entire general elections, Prince Ofosu Sefah, pricked the president to condemn the acts and charge the Inspector General of Police [IGP] Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye, to institute investigations into reports of intimidations and prosecute the perpetrators, adding,” their silence means they are aware or sanctioned the activities of NDC party thugs to the dismay of the good people of Ghana.
As to whether the NDC as a party knew anything about the brutalities which took place in Atiwa during the parliamentary by-elections, the NPP secretary was pretty sure that the NDC was behind the diabolic activities therefore calling on parliament to look at ways to strengthen the security services so that they can properly protect the people from rampage and reckless groups within the NDC party like the Azorka boys.
He charged on NPP legal brains to stand up and help innocent victims of brutalities and abuse meted out to them by NDC factionaries and thugs by filing civil law suits to seek redress from the law courts.
The NPP scribe condemned the recent brutalities suffered by innocent youth in Atiwa and Akwatia for upholding true democracy by preventing certain unscrupulous persons to intimidate voters whose only crime was to elect a competent NPP MP to represent them in parliament and oppose NDC incompetence.
He said, talking to some leaders in Ghana and getting some picture evidence, his mind, heart, prayers and thoughts are with the victims for suffering and sacrifices on behalf of democracy and the NPP. He was very confident that whatever they lost or pains suffered, God will replenish them.
Apart from that, he urged high commissioners and other foreign representatives in Ghana to monitor and impress upon the government to respect and sustain the democratic progress so far made especially in the eight years of NPP which had made the country the shining star among African countries and to prevent a turn of the clock back to the dark days of PNDC.
“We are very confident that the people will not tolerate return to dark days of Rawlings. We believe that this is another reason NDC is heading towards a massive loss in the election 2012” he noted.
Accordingly, the NDC government being led by President Atta Mills is heading backwards, from a development standpoint. Comparing the NPP government he said the incumbent government has sparse accomplishment to boast of.
Again, the signature major project passed by parliament-so called STX is likely to be only a mess, a worst or a misallocation of scarce national resources at best.
Commenting about the breakaway party form by alleged Alan Kyeremanteng followers in Kumasi, Prince Ofosu Sefah said, he was pretty sure that the NDC is behind the diabolic activities regarding the so called breakaway NPP party in Kumasi. But the NPP is as united as it has ever been so these NDC master minded tricks will not amount to much.
He noted that well meaning Ghanaians are equally united in kicking out the NDC government and they can hardly wait for 2012 to come around so that they can return serious policy makers to power such as the NPP has demonstrated that it possesses.
The NPP stalwart made it clear that he did not believe that bribing the people with material things or money is going to sway such determination of the people to kick out the incompetent NDC government.
He challenged that,” even if some of these things are offered, I am sure the people will say is our own money so they will gladly accept those things but will vote against incompetence”.
Prince Ofosu Sefah, further observed that Nana Akuffo Addo’s massive win at the presidential primaries has energized so many Ghanaians in and outside Ghana and the show of unity as well as decisiveness on the part of NPP as evidenced by the win on August 7, coupled with the true yearning of the people for competent people to run the government of Ghana, will overcome any expected chicanery on the part of the NDC to remain in power against the wishes of a clear majority of Ghanaians, by 2013.
In Canada there is a great enthusiasm which has increased membership, donations and interest in building new chapters across the country this reporter learnt.
The NPP scribe assured of the chapter’s preparedness to work hand in hand with other branches across the world to help members in Ghana in whatever way that it can financially and with ideas to actualize the return of NPP to power in 2012.
End.
