Why The NPP Should Go For r Frimpong Boateng For 2012 Part (III)

As the days draws nearer for the congress of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect its Candidate for election 2012, support for Professor Kwabena Frimpong- Boateng keep on soaring. It is now clearly confirmed after numerous field researches with the delegates to the impending primaries that, it is a straight contest between Honorable Isaac Osei and Professor Frimpong. The later however is miles ahead of the former for numerous reasons which will be unveiled in subsequent paragraphs.
Revelations to the effect that Alan Kyeremateng once officially resigned from the NPP is giving him lots of troubles. Though he sailed through the vetting and given the green light to contest for the leadership of the NPP, debate about whether he did resign from the NPP has failed to vanish.
The question most people are asking is -Did he or did he not resign from the NPP? Though evidence of his resignation letter from the NPP is available within the public domain, there seem to be lots of complexities and complications about his true membership of the party.
This has gone a long way to affect his chances even before August 7th 2010- the day for the leadership contest. His commitment to the NPP is a subject of intense debate making his anticipated supporters to shift camp to Professor Frimpong even before the big day. So Alan Kyeremateng is literally out of the contest.
Those who said they will give their votes to Professor Boateng disclosed that he has some attributes and qualities that are lacking in the other aspirants and therefore puts him in an excellent position to come out victorious at the primaries and to by extension secure the widely expected victory for the NPP in 2012.Some of the reasons they gave included but not limited to the following:
Firstly, Professor Boateng is seem as an excellent listener who has extreme patience to listen to new ideas from the rank and file of party members across the length and breath of Ghana without thinking that, he is the world bank of knowledge. He does not discriminate in who he listens to; according to some of the delegates who are itching to vote for him come August 7 2010 and therefore calls on all to join them to make the very right decision for the party.
One admirable feature according to most observers is that, Professor Boateng has a huge respect for the cultural and traditional sensibilities of all Ghanaians and has never and will not in their view use insulting words against the electorate in the face of provocations like other aspirants are doing in their campaign tours. His ability to manage provocations has been seen as legend.
Those who have had the opportunity to listen to Professor Boateng say he is an embodiment of humility and knows very well that, it is the ordinary people who make leaders. Some of the delegates spoken to- said some of the aspirants were behaving as if the leadership contest was for a certain clan and up for inheritance. Something they said only irritates them and Ghanaians.
To some, not only is Professor Boateng a founding member of the NPP but also he has kept absolute and unalloyed faith with the party. This they say has not attracted any debate about his membership of the party and impacts positively on his electoral fortunes.
Others who believe in the candidature of the Man say, he not only sounds very sincerest in his words and actions but he has the unparallel experience of having achieved a lot for Ghana outside politics. While he has lots of practical things that he has done for mother Ghana outside politics others have nothing to point to when politics is taken out of their curriculum vitae. With this superb achievement such people are just convinced that, he is the best thing that can ever happen to the NPP now and just what Ghana need.
Another positive feature of Professor Boateng according to observers is that, he accepts responsibilities for his achievements and failures and will not therefore blame his palpable failures any day on others. To such people their slogan is simple-“he who is unwilling to accept his mistakes is not fit to lead the people” Hence their overwhelming support for professor Boateng.
With the above positive comments in favour of Professor Boateng it makes all sense that, even non-members of the NPP says they will give their votes to him should his party elect him to contest election 2012.
With this information in the public domain the best to do now is for the other delegates who have not yet made up their minds to make it up in his favour for a guaranteed victory in 2012.
