MTN renovates Adusa basic schools

Accra, June 18, GNA - Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), has spent a total of GH¢13,000 on the renovation of three schools, as part of its 21-day corporate responsibility campaign. The company spent GH¢5,000 to renovate two classroom blocks of the Adusa Municipal Assembly Basic Schools, at Pokuase in the Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region. Other schools that have benefited from the gesture are Kwadaso Primary School in the Ashanti Region and Kwesimintsin Polyclinic in the Western Region.

Mr Eben Albertyn, Chief Technical Officer of MTN, who led a team of employees to paint the Adusa Municipal Assembly Basic School, said they were proud to be part of the promotion of education by assisting needy schools.

He said the campaign was inspired by the role the local community had played to ensure the success of MTN as a telecommunication provider in Ghana. Mrs Margaret Adu Osei, Circuit Supervisor of the area, thanked MTN for coming to the aid of the school. Mr Kojo Akuffo, Assembly Member of the Mayera Electoral Area, said the school lacked a classroom block for the Junior High School and there was no toilet for the 472 pupils. He appealed to other corporate companies to emulate the good example of MTN.
