I will defend Akufo Addo

On March 23rd 2007 Gye Nyame concord article indicates that “some of the supporters of the two aspirants engaged in this verbal political clash claimed they are colleague’s friends of Aliu Mahama (FOAM) and the friends of Akufo Addo (FONA)”. After reading the article I found that allegation made against Akufo Addo was outrageous. The article stated that “the veep supporters claimed that Akufo Addo concluded on Ghanaweb that the vice president could become the next president, but for some questionable business connections with some members of the Nigerian government, which has discredited their campaign”. I wrote this article personally on the 16th January2007 on Ghanaweb.com.

The article was not directed to attack the vice president, but it was a question that I asked him to answer to the entire Ghanaians. In fact the title of my article was, “the inside editions of NPP Aspirants” in which I stated that as a spokesperson for the common people in Ghana and those who do not have a voice in our political system it is my obligation to expose these candidates who wanted to become the president of our nation to the media for them to know their past and other ethical issues. I choose five of the NPP presidential Aspirants namely, Kwame Addo Kufour, Yaw Osafo Maafo. Allan Kyerematen, Akufo Addo, and Aliu Mahama. I asked these individuals to answer questions about some ethical issues. Kwame Addo Kufour invited some Journalist to his office and answered his part of the questions. On Saturday, 20th January 2007 Yaw Osafo-maafo also invited Ghanaian palaver editor to answer his part of the questions that I asked him involving issues on ethnics pertaining to the IFC, CNTCI, scam loans. Aliu Mahama and Alan Kyerematen refused to answer the questions. These allegations from Aliu Mahama Camps are false; their attack on Akufo Addo is ridiculous.

On Akufo Addo’s side I explain that this individual has behavioral problem, but he did not need to answer any ethical questions. However, he should check his arrogant behavior; if this problem persists can he become a president? Aliu Mahama shouldn’t think that he is above the reproached to answer the question about his dubious business involvement with some members in the Nigerian government? This business transaction that Aliu Mahama was involved in include United States house of representative, from Ohio democratic who is under FBI investigation. These connections course his chances to become the speaker of the house which is held by Nancy Pelosi. As a result of this some of his democratic congress members have called for his resignation from the House of Representative. Aliu and his camp should stop their nonsense and answer to Ghanaian and NPP member for his involvements. This allegation against Aliu is nothing new in the news media in Ghana. There is also a new speculation of allegation against Aliu Mahama that he has Nigerian roots either his father or his mother is from Nigeria. Ghanaian has the right to know the truth about these current allegations. Aliu should answer all the questions without any hesitation if he so desire to become the president. Running for the presidency in Ghana is not the same as becoming elder of your house family position. Ghanaians have the constitutional rights to know your back ground include any ethical issues. Aliu and Kufour’s cabin boy Allan Kyeremateng and their public relation officers (PROs) can ignore these questions if they want to become the President for our nation. Beginning from July this year these masters will be disposed and the morality of the common people whom I represent will win. Their refusal to answering these questions will absolutely affect them. I will expose them to let the NPP delegates and Ghanaians know who they are
