If The “Konongo Kaya” wouldn’t Carry, Then Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings Will Stand Tall Among The NDC Flag-Bearers to Carry.

If The “Konongo Kaya” wouldn’t Carry, Then Nana Konadu Will Stand Tall Amongst NDC Flag-Bearers to Carry.

Aide to former President Jerry Rawlings, Kofi Adams, has fended off criticisms that the former first couple is power drunk, arguing the former first lady is more than qualified to be Ghana's president.

Kofi Adams said “We have presidents across the world some of whom have not even half of the experience Nana Konadu has acquired in the last 28 years that she has been actively involved in the political activities in Ghana.”

Mr. Kofi Adams was reacting to media reports that Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings are preparing the grounds for the former First Lady to contest the presidential slot of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the 2012 general elections. Ashanti Region delegates to this year's commemoration of the June 4 Uprising marked in Tamale hoisted a big banner which read, "Movement for Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings: 2012 President."

At the event, Mr Rawlings characteristically lashed out at what he called the incompetence of the Mills-led administration and called the president a “Konongo Kaya”, - one who would not do the job but would not allow others to do it. In a nutshell, the former first lady, Konadu Rawlings is ready to carry unlike the President, who is a “Konongo Kaya”
